2013 Annual Report

2013 Annual Report

The year 2013 was very impactful year for us in Visions for Nigeria Foundation, though there were some difficulties and unprecedented issues. Some of these issues include poor response from donors, volunteers and laxity from the administrative arm of the organization.
In the year 2013, we worked with communities, particularly the vulnerable groups focusing on women, youths and children empowerments. The main pillar of the organization was laid which is the reformation and reconstruction of the organization profile. The new visions thus: we envisage a nation where vulnerable groups (youths, children and women) are empowered to take charge of their challenges and become a responsible citizen.
MISSION: To empower the youths, orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) for self-actualization through the provision of qualitative education, health services and economic development while working with volunteers.
The development has helped to shape the organization’s projects and programmes in a certain thematic areas (vulnerable women, youths and children). This has also modified the organization’s stability and public view in turn strengthens her fund seeking opportunities and collaboration.
VFNF implemented a number of programmes in some communities and institutions which include:
Schools Seminars

Reconstruction of the organization profile
Ihechiowa Sports Completion
Redesigning of the volunteers form
SCHOOL SEMINARS
Visions for Nigeria Foundation organized a seminar on hygiene education and abstinence as the best preventive measure for HIV/AIDS at His Glory International Schools Lugbe Abuja. We also noticed that many of the prevalent communicable disease in our schools can easily be prevented by simply basic hygiene practices like handwash, etc. That was why we organized this seminar to educated student on basic hygiene practices.
Secondly, we educated the students on abstinence as the best measure to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. Nowadays, a lot of HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns centered on B and C while as A is the most liable way to control the HIV pandemic but have been neglected. (A=Abstinence, B=be faithful and C= condom use). That was why this campaign was initiated to bridge the missing gabs in our secondary schools by teaching them on how to abstainand the benefits of abstaining from pre-marital sex.

organized for the inmates, to encourage them to take full advantage of the programme for their economic and personal growth.
The aim of the programme was to:
Equip the prison’s skill acquisition center and
